Weed down your stuff.If you've lived somewhere for several years, start making stacks of what to donate or throw out. Goodwill and the Salvation Army accept a variety of clothing and household goods — and what you can't donate, we can remove for you.
Collect supplies.Doing your own packing? Let us know what you need — we also provide low-cost boxes in several sizes, plus wardrobe, picture and TV boxes.
Identify high-priority items.Irreplaceable items (photos, birth certificates, passports) should travel with you in your car. Everyday essentials (dishes, toiletries, keys, the dog's bowl) should stay handy in a box you can access anytime.
Change your utilities and services.Contact water, gas, electric, phone, cable and internet providers ahead of time so service switches over cleanly — no paying for service you're not receiving, and no security deposit surprises at the new place.
File a postal change of address.Update your address with Canada Post ahead of moving day so mail follows you without a gap.
